Sadie

I haven't blogged about this, since I generally reserve this space for knitting content only, but I'm too sad about it not to observe it in some way. I'v written about in my journal, but I feel like I want it here, too.
My cat, my best grrl-kitty, who has been my constant friend for over 11 years, is dying. She has either liver cancer or hepatitis, but it doesn't matter. Either way, her time is short here on earth. The vet didn't recommend immediate euthanasia-- he said to take her home and enjoy our last days with her, and that she wasn't suffering.
It's hard, though, seeing her move so slowly, bones jutting everywhere. It's hard to see how labored her breathing has become.

I watched my mom die, slowly. I'm not good at this.

Anyway, my sweet Sadie girl, I'll always love you. I'll remember your sweet face, your hearty purr, and your feisty way forever.

  • It is very hard to feel so helpless. Rest assured that you have given her a wonderful and comfortable life. She is very pretty.

    Take care, Carole.

  • C, I'm so sorry about Sadie and I can't imagine how sad you must be. Give her an extra pat from me, would ya?

  • As a fellow cat lover I just wanted to offer my sympathy as well. They are such great animals and I know how much you will miss her. Hang in there and know that you've given her a great life.
    ((hugs))
