I'm loving S&B

So last night was Stitch & Bitch, my second time here in Albuquerque. It was awesome! There were about ten of us and we had people knitting things from baby booties to Airy Scarfs to sweaters and everyone was asking each other advice. Not to mention, it's held at Flying Star, which may be the coolest cafe/restaurant in Albuquerque. I had the most delicious pumpkin pie, my first time this season!
I made some progress on Casey, which is pain in the ass to knit, but is turning out really cool. The only downside is that it has a very obvious wrong side, which, when it comes to scarves, can be inconvenient at best and fussy at worst.

Bobbles! Big fat cables! Giganto unwieldy size 19 needles!

Looky at those bobbles, aren't they cuuuute?

How gorgeous is that yarn? It's very soft, also. Bonus.

  • Hey! Edgewood is 20 mintues or so east of Albuquerque, off I-40. You can do a google search for "Good Fibrations"- I think they have a website. Their phone number is listed and they give really good directions!
You might also check out A Different Drummer (they've recently moved). They have weird stuff... Village Wools is pretty good- they're the biggest in ABQ.
Santa Fe has several good yarn stores, too. Needle's Eye, Miriam's Well, Oodles Yarn and Bead... Taos is loaded, too... but that's a bigger haul.

Welcome to New Mexico! I saw that you've gone to the SnB, and I'm in a group that meets every Tuesday from 5:30-7 at the Flying Star at Central and Harvard (right across from the university.) Feel free to stop by some Tuesday night! I'm hoping to check out the SnB one of these weeks.

  • Ribbon Twist is SOOOOO gorgeous. I'm looking for the perfect pattern to use it in.

  • Hi. I'm Amylovies's mom. I have actually been to The Flying Star Restaurant. We were in Albuquerque last year. What a great city! We especially enjoyed the natural history museum.
