I'm feeling slumpish...

I haven't posted in a while. I started working part-time, extremely early in the morning (as in, waking up at 3:30 am), so my normal evening knitting time has been replaced by, um, sleep. My circadian rhythms are all wacky, too, so I'm tired all the time and knitting while tired = naptime for me, so I haven't accomplished much.
I ended up taking back the Biggy Print & the 36s. That was an exercise in ridiculousness. Instead, I bought some Cascade Jazz and 19s, but even swatching that sucked, so that project is on hold for a while.
I finished knitting my sister's Cleo, and now I just have to find the gumption to seam it and put in the elastic. I want to get it done before I leave on my trip on Friday, but somehow I don't see that happening. Ugh. I don't know why seaming it has me in such a state.
On the plane, I'm going to make some serious progress on the Big Bad Baby Blanket, and hopefully have it done by the time I get back.

Then, what? Well, I need to add the hood to my "Under the Hoodie", I want to start something for my MIL, and I need to start xmas projects. I'm also going to knit a Booga for my aunt, whom I visited the last couple days and who is an amazing knitter, but who has never done any felting.
My (other) sister wants me to knit Rogue, but I don't know if I am quite up to advanced cabling. We shall see.
I also want to knit a soft, lovely hat for a sweet customer of mine who is undergoing chemotherapy. I think that needs to be next.

s.e.x.

I just bought 7 balls of Rowan Biggy Print for a sweater I've been dying to knit for Vivienne, but could never justify the expense... until I got a gift certificate that more than covered it! Yay! My in-laws are the best!
The colorway is Fiesta:

The pattern is from Interweave's subscriber-only online patterns. It's on size 36 circs!! It's going to be crazy knitting with those things.

I also lucked out completely. I realized I was short one ball of the Jo Sharp I was using for Cleo, and was dreading trying to find it, since I bought it on elann.com and was concerned it might be closeout. Well, my LYS had ONE ball in that color and it was from the same dye lot! What are the odds? The woman working there suggested I go out and buy a lottery ticket.

Later, I'm thinking I may take a picture of my stash. It's getting pretty big.

w00t!

I got a $100 gift certificate to Weaving Works from my in-laws for my birthday! Awww yeah!

The bodice of Cleo is done. Tomorrow, I'm on a quest for one more ball of yarn, since I'm down to one & I'll need two for the remaining triangle. I'm a little worried, since I bought the yarn on elann.com. I hope it's not discontinued.
Tomorrow I'll put in the elastic. I hope I can try it on my sister and figure out the overlap tomorrow evening. She leaves on Saturday to go on a cruise, so I really want to get it to her in time for that.

progress!

I finally got through the lace band! It's really a cool pattern, once you sit down and do it with out small-child interruptions! I expect I'll finish the body today and then I need to go back and make another triangle.

It's a little dark, and it's squished onto the circs, but you get the idea.

What's next? I am going to finish off a Big Bad Baby Blanket for my friend, langus, who has thrown in the towel. Then I need to decide whether to focus on a bag for me-- I've got some Lamb's Pride Bulky in black and a nice deep pink waiting for me to knit & felt. I have a cardigan I want to start for Viv. I need to go back and add the hood to my hoodie. And then there's xmas presents... I'm pretty sure there will always be plenty of projects awaiting me from here on out.

oh.
my.
god.

Cleo is slowly killing me. I've ripped out one of the bra triangles twice. I got sick of that, so I moved on to the lace band, and guess what? I've ripped it out not once, not twice, but ohhhh 5 or 6 times! I've lost count.
I need one full evening of total silence to get the lace band done, and done right.

If I don't get it right next time, I may throw in the towel and come back to it next spring.
ugh.

I hate when knitting sucks.
