breathing deeply now

Two knitting projects that have been weighing on me are done! Here's my sister in Cleo, knit with two strands of Jo Sharp Soho Summer, which while beautiful and soft was a gigantic pain to work with. I've never dealt with such splitty yarn! Urgh. Anyway, it's done, but the triangles that make up the bust are a bit billowy, so I have to make some adjustments. It's on hold, though, since summer weather is well on its way out for the year.

Also, a friend who started the Big Bad Baby Blanket from Stitch 'n Bitch sent it to me to finish. Oh my. Never again am I knittinga baby blanket. I took to calling it the Big-ass Boring-as-hell Baby Blanket, Anyway, it's done! So, it's off in the mail to her tomorrow.

Now! I'm going to get the hood on my hoodie! Then I'm going to start my other sister's poncho and try to design a sort of buttoned capelet for myself. A couple scarves & hats for family members who need them. Some sort of hat for me for winter. Maybe Coronet?

My soon-to-be very local LYS has delayed its opening for a week. Woe!

wah!! not nearly enough knitting...

Getting around to knitting lately has been difficult, at best. I started working part-time, which has taken away some actual time, of course, but more than that, I get up so early, I'm barely functional several days of the week. This last week has been wild, too, between Silas starting kindergarten and Vivienne starting preschool, and me working and doing my preschool chair duties.
I did manage to knit this hat

while flying to and from Albuquerque a few weeks ago. This is the pattern, and I knit it using Cascade Jazz. I knit it for a customer of mine who is undergoing chemotherapy, and happily, she loved it!

I've been plugging along on the Big Bad Baby Blanket (or Bigass Boring Baby Blanket, as I tend to think of it), which I'm finishing for a friend. She's bought a gift certificate for me at my favorite LYS, but I am taking way too long to get it to her and feeling soooo guilty.
Speaking of yarn stores, though, a new one is opening October 2, just one mile from my house! w00t! It's also a mere two blocks from Viv's preschool, so I know where Thursday afternoons will likely find me.

Here's my knitting to-do list:
-- seam up Cleo for my sister, H.
-- finish "Under the Hoodie" (hood & seaming) for ME!
-- knit Frida for my sister, S.
-- xmas presents, can't be too specific here!
-- I don't know what's next after that, but there are about 20 things I want to knit, and many more new books coming out this fall, so I'll never get to them all, at least not while I still like them! Oh, to have more time in a day!

Ok, back to the BBBB. *sigh*
