harumph!

The second mitten came out smaller! They both felt sort of short in the fingers, too, so I looked, and realized I had accidentally knit the child's M/L instead of the woman's S/M! And I have super long fingers! They're blocking now, so hopefully they will be ok to wear. The hat's on the needles. ER is a re-run tonight, so I will be going to bed rather than knitting then, but since I'm getting up at 3:30 am for work, it's probably best, anyway.

grumble, fuss

Well, I've been messing with my blog. I like the way it looks, but I have yet to put in all my sidebar links. I went to look at the Knittyheads ring list to get my site ID & my site is no longer listed! I hope it's not because I got grumpy over the sniper cozies. Hopefully, it's accidental.
I have hardly been knitting! Ugh!!
After I pick up S from school, though, I'm going to hunker down & finish that mitten. I'd like to get at least halfway through a matching hat this evening, too. And I'm bound & determined to finish Under the Hoodie by Sunday!
I don't want to go to work tomorrow. I want to call in, and hide out in a cafe by a fireplace by myself for several hours, reading some and knitting some.

It's getting cold here...

Whee, a mitten! Much easier than I thought. The pattern is the "Super Mitten" from Weekend Knitting. I knit that one a couple days ago, but ithas no partner as of yet, since I have had no time to knit for a few days. Which means I'm rather cranky. Oh, the yarn is Lion Brand Lanscapes, which is quite nice to work with, as it turns out.
Still need to finish my hoodie.
I'm sooooooo ridiculously tired.

yay! Coronet! I can cable!

I think I'll make some felty mittens to match, eventually. I wonder if it's reasonable to churn out a project per week for xmas, starting in November? hmmmm.
Right now, I'm just so proud to have made something with cables!

&%$* camera!

Vivienne dropped my camera a couple weeks ago, and since then there's some problem with the USB connection, so uploading takes multiple attempts. Very annoying.
Anyway, here is a picture of the previously mention "muppet vomit" scarf, which actually is very pretty and soft, the colors just make me think inside-out-muppet:

and, drumroll please...

my first attempt at cabling:

Cabling is easier than I expected! And it feels like knitting alchemy! I'm actually switching yarns and will be knitting myself a PINK Coronet. I want to make some matching mittens, but don't know if I dare attempt to adapt a pattern to add the cabled edge.
I blocked the shoulders to my hoodie last night so I can seam them anytime and add the hood. I hope to accomplish that tomorrow, then maybe seam the rest over the weekend. I'm not loving the colors as much as I originally did, but whatever. Maybe I'll make another one.
I want to make a nice hat & scarf for T, too, and some knitty toys for the kids. Can I do all of this in time for Xmas? Not too likely!
Off to start my pink cabled band!

oscar puked

The scarf I am working on is cool, but in a muppet-vomit kind of way. ha! There's really no other way to describe it. I'll finish it at some point this evening, so I will take pictures then.
Frida's on the needles!
I'm going to go pick up a skein of Lamb's Pride in a charcoal for coronet.

It's Vivienne's birthday party weekend, and I'm working, so I won't get my hopes up for too much knitting.
