yay for USB

My brother-in-law provided me with a spare USB cable, so I was able to upload some more pictures of my most recent knitting. These are similar to earlier ones, but with a bit better detail. So, they are: the Wavy scarf, the Irish Hiking scarf, a stripey hat, and a hot water bottle cozy from Felted Knits.

ahhhhhhhhhhh

That was a huge sigh of relief. We just had xmas with my family which means my present knitting is DONE! I've decided I need to knit for birthdays instead, so it will be better-spaced in the future.
Next up: Ribby Cardi!! I'm too tired to swatch tonight, but after I clean up my disastrous house tomorrow, I'll do so. I have something I really want to knit for the next birthday recipient (yet another person known to read this blog, so no details), and found the (very expensive) yarn on ebay, but I got outbid after coasting free and clear for three days as the only bidder and it's now to a point where it's out of my reach. I really want to use the called-for yarn, because I loooooove Rowan yarns.

But, the sweater would cost me about $100 to knit & I just don't have that to spare. Suck.

Here are some pictures of my xmas knitting. I didn't include faces (or at least, not all) since I haven't asked yet if the recipients mind. My brother-in-law took these, since my usb connection is screwed up on my camera. There isn't one of the felted hot water bottle cozy, except for sadly residing on my camera. T is ordering a card reader as a stopgap, so I'll soon be able to post pictures again. Anyway! Onward.

weirdness

I don't know why my last post didn't have content. Oh well. It basically was me freaking out because I thought I had lost my knitting bag with my 7/8ths-finished Irish Hiking Scarf, which also happens to be a christmas present, but all's well. It was found and I completed the scarf, which is really lovely, if I may say. I'd put up a picture, but I can't find the USB cable to my camera. I'm done with 3 out of 4 xmas projects, and we are celebrating with my family on the 28th, so I think I'm okay. I really want to finish Biddy to wear to xmas, too, though.
Hopefully my next post will contains lots of pictures of beautiful FOs!

An Addi virgin no more...

My Addi cherry has been popped, and oh my! I do see what all the fuss is about! Mmmmmmm, now how do I convince myself that I won't need to knit everything on them? No way am I replacing all my bamboo with $20 needles.
I'm knitting something seeeeecret on them, but it involves Cascade 220 Quattro, which is just gorgeous anyway and it's in the round, and I feel like the fastest knitter in the west. Yummy.

holiday knitting blues

Oh, to be through the holidays! I want to selfishly knit for myself! Though, I have a fundraising thing I'm currently keeping underwraps that will ensue pretty much right away & keep me very busy. Let's just say it will involve a lot of pink yarn.
I can't even post pictures of my holiday knitting, lest one of the recipients happens to peek! I guess I'll photograph it all & post pictures once the gifts have been given. I don't even know why I'm so overwhelmed by it, since I'm actually only knitting for 4 people, but I guess life, taking care of the kids & that pesky job all kind of get in the way of knitting time so it feels far more precious than it used to.
Once I finish it all, I'm casting on immediately for the Ribby Cardi, and I'd really really love to knit Tempting, which was designed by a semi-famous Seattle knitter who is too incredibly cute for words and on whom the top looks amazing. I dunno, I think I lack the boobage to pull it off well. But, it's so my style. I wonder if I could sub for the Debbie Bliss Cahmerino, too, since it's well out of budget for me. Elann.com to the rescue, maybe!
Ok. I am going to finish at least two presents by the weekend, so I can knit up the last piece of Biddy & finally have a FO to show off!
